There’s a lot going on in our office these days. Aside from some OOO emails, you wouldn’t tell we’re in a vacation season. The same applies for the tech and digital world in the recent weeks. What a month of July!
We have a few heavy news readers and serious tech enthusiasts around here, who I believe would be pretty competitive in a general knowledge quiz for the latest digital events. THE STATE OF SAAS IN 2016 [REPORT]: WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR BUSINESS
A software analysis firm has published a report about the state of SaaS in 2016. They analyzed data about consumer spending, job listings and salaries and top SaaS companies and company type, to give a big-picture view of the state of SaaS. TechRepublic has also published an article that goes into the takeaways of the study. Both are well worth a read!
“IT spending has long since been shifting from traditional IT offerings to cloud services – and according to the latest prognostication from Gartner, more than $1 trillion (£759bn) of IT spending will be directly or indirectly affected by the shift to cloud in the next five years.”
Microsoft has built a business app store, AppSource, designed as a tool to help businesses find software that augments the Microsoft products they already use, such as Power BI, Azure, and Dynamics AX. The platform that connects third-party developers with business users makes it easy for end users to discover and trial the business solutions they need, and for the partners to deliver integrated solutions.
Gates believes that these changes will be a reality really soon and will power some pretty amazing technological advances that will help create economic growth and improve the human race in years to come.
